“Last night we began intensifying our operations deeper into the urban zone,” an military official said. “This is a phased thing. It is not a simple thing. But the previous day was a major advance in progress … in operations on the ground.”
“This phase is involves a integrated and measured operation combining detailed intelligence, air and ground forces targeting Hamas’s main hub and intended to disrupting its influence in Gaza City,” the official said.

“Many of them, we understand, have been there from the start the war and are preparing to fight with our forces in streets and below surface,” the official stated.
The ground assault was initiated on a morning when a UN group of humanitarian experts issued a report claiming Israel of committing atrocities.
“It is clear that there is an intent to eliminate the population in the Strip through acts that satisfy the criteria outlined in the genocide convention,” remarked the head of the inquiry.
The nation's government rejected the commission’s report as “distorted and misleading”.
Israel Katz, declared in an public message on X: “Gaza is burning. The IDF is targeting terror infrastructure with an iron fist.”
“We will continue until the mission is accomplished,” the minister continued.

His critics have long argued that he has prolonged the hostilities to postpone voting, retain his position and thereby maintain his legal immunity.
The ground assault was carried out in the follow-up of a two-day visit from the American diplomat, Marco Rubio, who had pledged “strong” American support for Israel.
Following what has been seen in Israel as a international backing for the operation, Donald Trump used his Truth Social earlier to spread an unconfirmed report that Hamas had transferred several of the believed 20 surviving hostage hostages on open areas to act as protective barriers.
He warned militants: “Cease these actions or, there will be consequences.”
